Bill's 1999 New Beetle

I bought a 1999 New Beetle GLS on March 30, 1999 - a 2-day early birthday present from Bill to Bill! It replaces my 1972 Karmann Ghia, which has served me extremely well but it's just time for a new car in my life =) My New Beetle is dark blue, with a cream leatherette interior. No photograph can do justice to the paint, which turns from blue to purple to green depending on how the light hits it.

Here's me 'n' my new car visiting the Pacific ocean! You can see how the color goes from dark blue in the front to a little stripe of purple at the back where the sun is on it.
